Do you want your deceased child’s name remembered in my book?
As many of you know, I have written a memoir called Expecting Sunshine about my experience of losing Zachary and having my next child Eden. I wrote the memoir back in 2011 and have been editing it for the last three LONG years. Crazy, I know, but I want it to be just right. Finally, as you read this, I am putting the finishing touches on the text and am excited to move forward in the next stages with my book.
As I was editing just now, I had an idea! I have one scene where I am attending the Walk to Remember and am reading names along the sidewalk, looking for Zachary’s name. Currently, I have made-up names listed there – but I began to wonder if any of you would like to include your deceased child’s name. It could be a special way to commemorate your son or daughter – or even if you don’t know the gender of your baby, maybe you have a nickname you would like to include.
If you want to participate and have your child’s name entered into this list, please comment below with the first name, full name or nickname. I would love the opportunity to honour your child with you in this special way.
I cannot guarantee every name will be included as I am limited by space and the flow of the narrative – but I will do my best.
Thank you!

What a wonderful way to honour your son, Zachary. This is also a kind offer to families, like ours, that struggle to find ways to publicly acknowledge our baby.
If you are able, we would be deeply touched if you could include our daughter, Tessa Isabel Vladicka Gue. We love her and miss her each day.
We miss the Walk to Remember.
Strangely, most of the lower case “i”s are missing in my above message. The only one that we’d really like to address, if possible, is the spelling of Tessa’s last name: it’s Tessa Isabel Vladicka Gue.
Thanks again.
Goodness – this still isn’t working. The lower case “eye” (but the letter and not the word) are not coming up int the posts. How strange.
Our daughter’s name is Tessa Isabel Vlad”eye”cka Gue. But of course the letter and not the word.
Hi Theresa,
Don’t worry, I will email you to make sure that the spelling is correct. Thank you for commenting and including Tessa in my book. I am honoured to celebrate her with you!
Sincerely,
Alexis Marie
Thank you Alexis Marie for offering this to families. Nothing is more beautiful than seeing your babies name in print and be able to share them with others. It does not matter how much time has passed they are still thought and missed every day.

I hope that everything has turned out well with your next child. I agree that pregnancy after loss is incredibly challenging – more than people expect.
